A mother’s love is the first miracle we ever meet.

It doesn’t demand attention.

Doesn’t seek credit.

Carries everything — quietly, constantly, and without complaint.

So this is for the moms.

The mothers.

The mommas, grandmas, Nanas, Mimis, and Nonnas —

For every woman who raised a child, whether by blood, by choice, or by sheer determination.

You gave up pedicures for private lessons.

Skipped lunch to deliver a forgotten uniform.

Memorized jersey numbers, allergy charts, locker combinations —

And still remembered to thaw the chicken.

Logged more highway hours than vacation days.

Fought for recess because kids deserve sunlight, scraped knees, and space to be kids.

Stood at school board podiums with fire in your gut and notes folded in your purse.

You kept everything moving with three calendars and a cracked windshield.

Learned to love when it was hard and lead when it was thankless.

And the grandmas — the quiet heroes —

Who raised the ones who raised us.

Who slipped $100 into a college account with nothing but the note: “for groceries.”

Who made sure the kids were surrounded by love — in second helpings, soft hugs, and being there when no one else was.

You sat in ERs with calm hands and shaking hearts.

Made dinner with one arm while holding a sobbing toddler in the other.

Bailed teenagers out — of trouble, of heartbreak, of bad decisions —

And never told dad.

You cried in parking lots.

Prayed in pantries.

Because it wasn’t easy —

But you kept going anyway.

Because no one else could do it quite like you.

You never asked for credit.

You never waited for thanks.

But we know now.

We know what it took.

And we’re in awe.

For the mothers who are no longer within reach —

We still feel you.

We still talk to you.

And we know you still hear us.

The best we can say is Happy Mother’s Day — though it could never be enough.

You didn’t just raise children.

You anchored the family.

You held up the sky.
